SOMAD STATUS: ALIVE		J.D.
Outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals since the summer of 1998. J.D. was acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies after a long salary battle. The management claimed that they wanted the young player for his early-showing talent, while others speculate that the team needed him for his boyish good looks.
